  • The Mission
    The mission of the FITMAN (Future Internet Technologies for MANufacturing industries) project is to provide the FI PPP Core Platform with 10 industry-led use case trials in the domains of Smart, Digital and Virtual Factories of the Future
    FITMAN Trials (4 conducted by Large Enterprises, 6 by SMEs) will test and assess the suitability, openness and flexibility of FI-WARE Generic Enablers while contributing to the STEEP (social-technological-economical-environmental-political) sustainability of EU Manufacturing Industries.
    The use case trials belong to several manufacturing sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, white goods, furniture, textile/clothing, LED lighting, plastic, construction, and manufacturing assets management.

2nd European Conference on The Future Internet (Munich, 17-18 Sept. 2014)

The 2nd European Conference on the Future Internet (ECFI) presents trends, technologies and innovations for the smart use of tomorrow‘s Internet in different application sectors.
ECFI Munich will present cutting-edge research results on the European Internet infrastructures and services of the future, which have been developed in the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP).

17 Sept. | 13:30-14:30 | FIWARE for Manufacturing and Logistic Enterprises: Expansion of existing trials

Sergio Gusmeroli, (FITMAN), Sjaak Wolfert (FISPACE), Oscar Lazaro (FABULOUS), Harald Sundmaeker (FINISH)

The projects FITMAN and FISPACE are currently testing and experimenting FIWare Generic Enablers in manufacturing and logistics industrial trials. FABULOUS and FINISH will issue Open Calls for SMEs and Web Entrepreneurs interested in developing innovative applications in manufacturing and logistics. The workshop aims at exploiting joint opportunities, identifying possible barriers and bottlenecks as well as roadmapping a common approach to a successful expansion of existing use cases by new components developed in the FIWARE accelerator programme.

18 Sept. | 10:00 – 13:00 |TECHNO BRUNCH

The Techno Brunch at BMW World will feature a high-level panel discussion on how the Future Internet will revolutionise the manufacturing sector and particularly the automotive industry. Sergio Gusmeroli representing FITMAN is invited to participate in the Panel Discussion around "Manufacturing and the Future Internet".

17-18 Sept. | FITMAN Booth

FITMAN will have an exhibition stand at the Conference, where we will show prototypes and demonstrations of our trials in manufacturing. We will also distribute dissemination material and provide information to FIWARE accelerators and proposers on how to access and use the FITMAN platforms and services.
